Briefly...
3/4 of the Hot Rod House
And it’s September. We had a fantastic birthday party
for a bunch of friends late last month, where we
rented out the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs and
had everyone dress up like we were in the
sixties…it was pretty awesome. You can see the
shots here and here.
Things have been very interesting as of late. The
trailer for an indie film, Screwed, I did
earlier this year is out--you can check it out
here. I also just found out
about a very cool project that I will be filming
next week that I can’t talk too much about, but I
couldn’t be more excited about it--it’s gonna be a
fantastic addition to my reel and should,
hopefully, be helpful for my agents as they look
at projects for me.
As usual, I have been really busy at work, trying to
get some products out the door (you’ll be seeing them
on the shelves and online in a few weeks) and
continue to write for iFanboy.com. My most recent
piece on digital comics was pretty well
received and we had quite a few comments--if you
are a comic book fan, this has to be the most
exciting (and scary?) time in recent memory, with
DC not only resetting all of their titles, but
releasing them in digital format on the same day
they are sold in stores.
Oh, and you might see me in a recent Charter
Communications commercial called Christmas in
September. Once I get a copy of it, I will post
it here.
I have been trying a few things with my personal
appearance as of late. It’s strange to see how very
simple changes can really change the way people
interact with you. Take, for instance, my beard. I
can grow a pretty decent one in about 2 weeks, as
evidenced by this picture, which I took last night as
a I kind of audition for the short I am going to be
filming next week (I had to add the glasses for the
shot as well):
Crazily enough, the glasses kind of work with the
beard, which I did not expect. The beard is good and
I worked with Kelly to take a few shots for my agents
to use (check the headshots section of the site to
see them), and the response has been really positive.
It’s kind of fun; it adds a different “voice” to what
I bring, and I think should be helpful when I
audition for more serious parts.
I have also noticed that when I wear a tie and a
jacket, people totally treat you differently. I mean,
this is nothing new, but wow, do I wish I had caught
that earlier – it’s very useful!
Yikes, these updates can sound vapid. It’s fine —
life is good.
Hang in there!
